Chicago 352 shot – in the killing game

America at a loss over Chicago’s killing game

It’s been awhile since looking at the numbers so here goes:

So far 352 individuals have been shot in Chicago this year, of that 295 have been shot and wounded, with 57 individuals having been shot and killed. And as always a huge shout out to http://heyjackass.com/ for putting these numbers together on what seems like an hourly basis.

President Donald Trump has vowed to do something about the violence in Chicago but the reality is still that if you read my last bit about Chicago, this is Atypical of the history in Chicago.

They have a growing upward tick of crime, then years later they bask in the sunlight of decreasing homicides and violence throughout the city, before they start to see that gut wrenching upward tick in crime again.

So what is the problem? Overall, several experts, including myself have studied it, it’s not isolated to just one issue it is several issues. It always has been several.

The problem with trying to fix a broken and wounded Chicago is that it is going to take a hell of a lot more than just sending in the Fed’s or the The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who said on Saturday that they were considering sending in more agents to help Chicago fight the uptick in shootings.

At the end of the day, that may or may not help because Chicago’s problems are several and not simply just one or two. With Chicago you also have the issue with it’s cops, who have a history of being way out of line in terms of police misconduct.

You add that to a group of young men and women who already feel that they have no other options, that they are held down by the man, they have no jobs, they have no money…it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out the what, why and how the violence has been on this upward tick.

The vow to send in Federal Agents to clean it up, well that is the band-aid and it’s not going to last in the long term, plain and simple.

While I find President Donald Trump’s idea of wanting to put an end to the violence in Chicago sincere and honest, I do not believe that he is going about it in the right way.

Because Chicago has always faced issues with increases and decreases in violence, to get her fixed and fixed for the long term, one would have to really sit down and understand the issues Chicago has had throughout it’s long and torrid history through today.

So what can the Fed’s do now?

Nothing really, because whatever they end up doing will only be on the surface and that’s if they can get anywhere near the violence, meaning put a dent in it.

At this juncture until we can get into Chicago and start fixing the root of the issues, we will continue to see this increase and decrease in crime for next decade and well beyond that.

But let’s give a huge round of applause to President Trump for managing to promise to do something about the violence, without bothering to have the wherewithal to understand why it’s happening.

Bravo, President Trump, Bravo.
