Whilst User Accounts Being Hacked

Cristal M Clark

Disney, the happiest place in the world, Disney + wants to be the happiest new Netflix, turns out it may be the happiest, just not the safest in the world. Mere hours after the service went live, hackers delightfully started hacking user accounts and selling user information whilst users enjoyed Disney + and Thrust.

Now many of these accounts are now being offered for free on hacking forums, or available for sale for prices varying from $3 to $11. If that wasn’t bad enough when the service launched last week, they also faced backlash for a multitude of technical issues. Which left users unable to stream their favorite movies and shows.

What alerted Disney + to the hacking was users angered because they suddenly lost access to their accounts thereby canceling the planned Disney + and Thrust night or afternoon, morning, whichever.

Of course the angry users ran to social media to vent their frustrations, which in turn got the attention of Disney.

It’s been suggested the hacks may have occurred due to Disney+ credentials having been obtained from users infected with keylogging or info-stealing malware because this is Disney folks, they will not admit to a vulnerability in their new streaming service.

And now, hacking forums have been flooded with Disney + accounts, with ads offering access to thousands of account credentials. Also note from the site above this guy is giving out free giveaways…of what folks I have not a clue

So what is Disney + doing about this? No one is sure really, they have not rolled out support for multi-factor authentication which would really resolve the issue but that’s on Disney +.

Remember folks, if you are planning to Disney + and Thrust, stay safe my friends, stay safe.
