Coronavirus Heroin Anyone?

Bronx – New York

Cristal M Clark

I was wondering when we would start marketing campaigns geared towards the pandemic. Covid-19 Micro-Brew, the Rona Burger, Coronavirus Fries, you get the picture. I did not expect something like Heroin to be labeled as “Coronavirus.”

I am guessing that the NYPD was just as surprised to see it as well. Turns out some quick thinking drug dealers got their marketing game on and started selling heroin in glassine packets stamped with the word “Coronavirus” next to a biohazard symbol.

I have to hand it to them for the creativity here. I mean they beat some of the world’s leading ad agencies to the punch line on this one.

The NYPD stumbled upon a Bronx heroin/fentanyl packaging mill where they were shocked to learn, produced more than $1 million worth of individual dose envelopes stamped “Coronavirus,” “24 Black Mamba,” “Hiroshima,” “Isis,” “Antrax” and “95.”

Damn these guys are killing it with the clever marketing.

According to York DEA Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan

“We arrested six drug traffickers who aptly branded their product ‘coronavirus. Traffickers market their drugs like businesses, branding their product with stamps to attract users, like ’24 Black Mamba’; or use an ‘Antrax’ stamp to designate origins and reference enforcer gangs of the Sinaloa Cartel.”

It is important to note that brand of heroin, and the “24 Black Mamba” heroin have been associated with multiple fatal overdoses in New Jersey but the source of the heroin has not been discovered yet.

Since New York has faced some really strict lockdown measures it wasn’t too difficult for cops to figure out what was up after they witnessed a drug hand-off near the George Washington Bridge Thursday night, after they found the branded drugs in a Bronx apartment.

At the end of the day, The raid resulted in the seizure of $25,000 cash, 120,000 packets of heroin or fentanyl, drug-packaging equipment and ink pads used to stamp the glassine packets.

Bat Shit Crazy Alex Jones – Thinks About Killing and Eating His Neighbors?

Wait, What?

Cristal M Clark

Has anyone seen the news about Alex Jones, who we all already know is bat shit crazy but he has announced that he has been eyeing his neighbors and sees himself killing then snacking on them.

Here’s what Alex had to say on a recent show he aired:

“You think I like sizing up my neighbor, how I’m gonna haul him up by a chain? Chop his ass up? I’ll do it. My children aren’t going hungry, I’ll admit it. I will eat my neighbors … I’m just gonna be honest … I’m literally looking at my neighbors now going ‘Am I ready to hang them up and gut them and skin them and chop them up?’ and you know what, I’m ready … I’ll eat my neighbors … I’ll eat your ass, I will.

Note to self, be sure that you never move in next to that nut case. That’s ummm pretty fucked up. The guy isn’t going to wither away and die anytime soon, has anyone seen how fat he’s gotten? He could stand to lose a few pounds.

Alex has always been more of the doom and gloom type, spreading deranged and outrageous conspiracy theories such as,  mass shootings didn’t really happen, they were staged by the government, my personal favorite was that the FBI somehow staged 911 and employed actors to play the parts of victims, family members of victims, someone remind me to send of my resume to the FBI.

Alex has also recently been dethroned on social media platforms for peddling disinformation, lies and outrageous claims and conspiracy theories. I would not exactly call this all a fall from grace for Alex but rather a delusional, mentally deranged downward spiral.

The sad fact here is that in just a few years before 2016 Alex started to become a bit crazy, like a screw fell out somewhere along the way, by the time 2016 rolled around it became evident that while the rest of us ignored this lunatic, he had quietly been amassing a large audience, and that audience clung onto everything the man peddled. Trust me on that, I met some of the 9/11 folks and I am telling you you cannot win an argument with sheer crazy+stupid. You just can’t.

In August of 2018, Facebook, Apple, YouTube, and Spotify had removed Alex’s beloved InfoWars content from their sites. Apple kicked him off of  iTunes a week later. Vimeo, Mailchimp, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter all followed. Which as you can tell by his recent comments he has not been dealing with in a healthy way mentally.

To be fair, all of those platforms that gave Alex the boot did the right thing, people and I am talking about normal people who were sick of his bullshit rantings pushed for that. The guy spread hate, he wanted to see this nation torn apart, wanted to see race wars, killing and just utter archaic violence. The rest of us would really like to see everyone just evolve past that but, Alex just kept pushing.

Now because he refuses to take medication and seek the help of some mental health therapy, his brand is falling deeper than ever into the rabbit hole, as it should.

His comments about eating his neighbors, well Alex has been attempting to attach himself to the recent protests surrounding statewide lockdowns, he is pushing his views again that quarantine is an existential threat to American freedom that will shut down our food supply and lead us to apocalypse. And that my friends is a pretty dangerous view to take. Anyone and I mean anyone who shares that point of view should be closely monitored by law enforcement because those individuals actually do want to see a war here at home start.

And someone needs to put a finality to Alex Jones and his rantings by shutting him down from any open airwave. Period. The man is a danger to the sanctity of society and a completely deranged lunatic.

No Live Music Until 2021?

The Answer Varies Depending on Where You Live

Cristal M Clark

One of the hardest hit industries who fell victim to the Coronavirus was the live entertainment industry and it was hit quite possibly with the cruelest of blows. After Congress realized that many of the gig workers within that industry made an actual income, they needed to provide them with some type of adequate support through unemployment for the short term, no one has offered a sustainable short term solution that will work into the long term. So many of the gig workers within the entertainment industry do things other than perform live shows behind the scenes that we don’t see that make some of those live performances such a huge success. And for some they actually made a pretty decent living at it. But this covers lighting, sound, special effects, photography, etc. all of those little things you see that add that wow factor, those individuals are not seeing an end in sight.

AEG Presents-crimeshop - Edited

Unemployment typically caps you from getting anymore than 26 weeks maximum a year. Let that sink in for a moment. 26 out of 52 weeks. It has left many wondering what they are going to do when you also take into consideration that most states have said they don’t see live entertainment other than maybe football happening until the spring of 2021.

I’ve had a couple of calls recently where industry leaders are in fact looking for ideas, input and suggestions as they grapple with the possibility that they might be out of an income until maybe next spring.

Here in Denver when bars and restaurants open back up, they will only be allowed to have 25% of their capacity and the city has yet to let us know about venues that host live performances.

The potential to hit to the industry for the long term is unfathomable. That hits everyone involved negatively. Mentally this is devastating to so many people who have poured their lives into bringing us live entertainment. A lot of these individuals travel both the US and the world doing events and shows and just because they are not a headline group or you don’t necessarily know what that individual contributes, they are not famous – we can’t just tell them “fuck you, you should have chosen a different profession.”

We have to get performers back on stage, we have to resume sporting events but the question is how do we accomplish that safely without a vaccine and without enough tests? What’s more is how do we create an atmosphere that allows for more than 25% of capacity so that folks do not lose income?

On the flip side of that you will see consumers who will be reluctant to attend any live venues until a vaccine is available.

So what is the answer?

That is what the industry is trying to figure out. I am watching some local yet big time bands playing on Facebook, doing live shows but it’s not bringing in the funds they have lost and it’s heartbreaking.

I may not want to attend a live show until a vaccine is available. I would however pay to watch the event in more of a pay per view situation. The idea being that you open up let’s say Red Rocks for the summer, groups can play but to only 25% of the capacity, you have drones, a camera crew, the other gig workers and you televise the show. The gig workers wear PPE so as to reduce the chance of infection, the group playing practices social distancing whilst on stage as does the audience. And making that happen is not an easy task as anyone who has ever attended a concert or live show knows. That isn’t as easy in a smaller venue to accomplish, like the Gothic Theater but it is doable with the right planning, thinking and preparation. Smaller venues could charge more for the pay per view tickets to help make up for lost revenue due to lost alcohol sales, the reality is, I can drink for less at home than I can attending a show, right?

And the same can be done for sports it’s all in how you do it then sell it.

We are all hurting through this financially but, it isn’t just up to the government to get us back up and running, we all need to be a part of figuring out how to get things up and running safely because our government doesn’t always think of everyone, in fact the government will leave many out because they cannot act quickly enough. So anyone who appreciates a live venue or how has friends or loved ones playing these venues should be helping get idea’s going so that we can get our friends back to doing what they do best.

2020 – The Year That Keeps Giving

One Catastrophe After Another

Cristal M Clark

What a time to be alive right? Within the first 30 days of this year:

  1. Tension between US and Iran
  2. Australia wildfires
  3. Philippines volcanic eruption
  4. We just started hearing about Coronavirus
  5. Kobe Bryant dies.

The hits, well they just keep coming.

February rolls around, we hear more and more about Coronavirus, by the end of the second week of March millions of individuals worldwide lost jobs/income due to the virus. Jobless claims overwhelmed unemployment servers to the point they came crashing down.

Coronavirus officially becomes mainstream and a threat. Hospitals run out of personal protective gear, they don’t have enough facemasks or ventilators.

America gets shut down.

Congress scrambled to get help to American’s but it wasn’t fast enough let alone enough and poorly handled. Gig workers in some cases are still waiting for unemployment payments to start showing up. Businesses were forced to close during statewide lockdowns in March and April. People were told to stay home for the entire month of April here in the US.

Economic Stimulus Package Tax Rebate Checks Printed

The Stimulus payments were held up by a deranged Nancy Pelosi, she ended up getting her way but we all know how that story played out.

Many still have yet to receive the stimulus payment and an extra $600 a week has been added to individual unemployment payments, which really opened the eyes of the American workforce who are now finding that they are making more on unemployment than they did working. That is due to corporate greed, owners and board members feel entitled to give themselves raises and bonuses rather than pay someone an actual living wage.

American’s also started to understand just how much we depend on China for both the manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries, and Trump well he is gearing up to start bringing those back to America in an effort to get our economy fixed and fixed right. American corporations are learning a powerful lesson in that the greed they have enjoyed so that they could happily exploit the plight of the workforce they had, will no longer be tolerated.

Trump orders the meat packing industry to stay open despite the fact that hundreds of workers are falling ill, they don’t have the protection they need to keep them safe from the virus.

The bailout loans for small businesses was a complete disaster, both times and came too late if at all to actually save anyone’s job. We learned that some used the funds to fund their own pocket book, not the workers.

Suicide, domestic violence and child abuse numbers start to inch up amidst the state lockdowns as some individuals became depressed during the isolation and the abused were left isolated in homes with tyrants.

Alcohol and cannabis sales skyrocketed as folks found not much to do while states were locked down.

Every single Democratic nominee dropped out of the race leaving the party with the old creepy guy that has a propensity to touch people inappropriately and smell them. I should just send a box of cubans to Trump now and congratulate him on another 4 years. Seriously, he doesn’t even have to try now.

Kim Jong un vanishes, word on the street is that he is close to death or dead, then out of nowhere he just pops back into the picture as if nothing happened. The United States Government releases video of a suspected UFO and states start to ease those stay at home restrictions before enough testing is available, the numbers aren’t even going down and we fell witness to just how divided the United States is. Protesters took to the streets to protest stay at home orders informing us all that they don’t care about themselves, but forgot about the rest of us who do care about ourselves and would prefer not to get the virus. Then the backlash over wearing masks started to take hold. People are behaving deplorably, the truth is no one is infringing on your rights, we are attempting to protect each other and you.

States need bailouts and some are told to just file for bankruptcy.

Many have been left wondering what’s next, as states started to open millions who thought they’d be going back to work learnt that simply wasn’t true for the foreseeable future.

May 1 shows up and nothing bad happened, people started feeling okay and by the 3rd we started hearing about Murder Hornets showing up in the United States.

In a year that just keeps on giving disaster after disaster, the author of the Twilight Saga announced that a new Twilight book is on its way but told from the perspective of Edward.

No one can say what might be on tap for June at this point, but after the first 4 months of this year and the start of May, many of us are sitting on the edge of our seats.

Today Total Cases Globally: 3,544,281

Deaths: 248,816

US Total Cases: 1,166,083

Deaths: 67,913

IRS Inadvertently Sends Stimulus Payments to Foreign Workers

Internal Revenue Service – Oops Our Bad

Cristal M Clark

While many are still waiting on those $1,200 stimulus payments the United States Government said they sent, some who aren’t even eligible for one are in fact receiving one. Turns out the IRS made a slight error and started sending payments out to Thousands of foreign workers which were meant for US workers only and to make matters worse, the IRS is scrambling to get those payments back, well truthfully they are trying to figure out how to get the payments back.

What would you do if the IRS inadvertently sent you money you should not have received especially right now? That’s right, you’d be out spending it, just like those that are overseas.

Those that received the stimulus funds are scrambling to spend it before the IRS can do anything to try to retrieve it.

Economic Stimulus Package Tax Rebate Checks Printed

How did this happen you ask? Well, due to an unforeseen glitch that funneled taxpayer dollars to other countries, according to tax consultants and the recipients themselves, that’s how that happened.

College students who worked in the US and  who spent time in the U.S. in the last two years, some of whom returned home long before the coronavirus pandemic have been surprised to find $1,200 checks deposited into their bank accounts. College students? The IRS is not getting anything back from them but good luck trying. There were 1.1 million foreign students in the U.S. last year according to the Institute of International Education.

The error stems from a tax-filing blunder, particularly for those on F-1 student and J-1 exchange visas. These workers study at US universities and work summer jobs in the US, often turn to TurboTax and other e-filing systems without knowing that the systems are designed only for U.S. residents. So to the IRS they are US citizens, which is a problem with the software by the way, not the IRS or the students.

To make matters worse, many temporary foreign workers each year file the wrong tax forms, something the IRS rarely catches the error because nonimmigrant workers’ Social Security numbers have the same number of digits as those of U.S. citizens, and therefore appear to be identical so they received US stimulus money.

According to industry insiders, normally the error doesn’t much matter, but this year it’s causing the IRS to think certain foreign workers are eligible for one-time stimulus payments. The glitch affects both workers in the U.S. and those who recently left the country.

In a year where every penny counts let’s just hope that the IRS starts looking at errors like this and starts making them matter, we wouldn’t want to continue to send out erroneous monies to foreigners who shouldn’t be receiving them moving forward would we?
