Jaw Dropping Covid-19 Numbers Sweep United States
The US Christmas Gift to Ourselves – Sickness and Death

If you are like me, you got through Thanksgiving in a responsible way, socially distancing even from loved ones. But if you were like Denver, Colorado’s hypocritical Mayor Michael Hancock, you flew out of state after shutting down Denver businesses again and urging the people of Denver to ride out Thanksgiving alone due to the rising number of cases.
Yes, I saw a rather pathetic apology, telling us that he was thinking with his heart, he admitted he made the wrong choice, blah, blah, blah. Spare us, the joke of an attempt to garner pity or even offer an apology. I even read somewhere that someone who studies politics said that the American people are forgiving and this will be forgiven. I beg to differ on that because we have yet to see the fall out from the pandemic, our failure as a nation, citizens failing to change behaviors, our governments often hypocritical behaviors.
We have to stop saying things like “New Normal,” or “We just want things to go back to normal.” The fact is that they cannot go back to normal and we have yet to witness any type of new normal because we have failed to change our own behaviors through the pandemic so we are blinding ourselves to a catastrophe that has yet to fully unfold.
This year, we saw the worst US President in the history of this country launch misinformation campaign after misinformation campaign again and again about the virus and the election. We watched a grown man launch tantrum after tantrum over his election loss attempting to gain some form of control over this nation, a nation who promptly voted him out because of his lies, his racism, his bigotry, his neglect of a country launched into to peril by a global pandemic. We are simply tired of his fake news, fake stories and lies which he still continues to this day. Not to mention that as a nation we basically told Donald Trump that we will not tolerate his type of racism, bigotry, fake news, lies, misinformation, and utter destruction of our country through our votes.
We have fallen victim to our own local leaders who basically tell us to practice what they preach not what they do, Hancock that nod is for you, ever hear that one about actions speaking louder than words? An apology is a word and are more often than not, never truly meant for it is not an action.
We watched our government shut our economy down, put people and businesses out of work, and fail to help either so that they could pay bills, put food on the table, have you seen the food bank lines across this nation?
Testing is a joke, here in Denver the city tells you that if you have insurance to use your insurance to get tested, yet when you try that the local doctors office urges you to go to a free testing site to get tested and wait time are sometimes up to 4 hours or more for a test that takes days to get back.
Contact tracing? Ha, ha, ha. Did anyone miss Trump’s supporters the entire last year? Did you see them? Do you really think any of those people would allow for any type of app or offer to help contract trace? These people are the same people who go onto social media and cry that this is about control not a virus, they are uneducated enough to believe that if Apple puts an app on your phone so as to contact trace it’s big brother watching, yet they are just stupid enough to download a plethora of free apps for things like shopping, gaming, social media and those apps track them every time they take their device to the restroom and beyond.
We fell witness to our nationtions inability to cope with and deal with the pandemic, we refused to change our own behaviors and basically gave the middle finger to caring about others.
We saw our government argue with each other, point fingers, blame, fail, time after time, the leader of our nation spread false information, some mayors and governors refuse face mask mandates, helping the spread of both misinformation and the virus and then put their constituents at risk all while shutting our economy down and in turn do absolutely nothing so as to ensure that citizens could pay bills, like rent, put food on the table. Clearly showing us how little they truly care, yet we as citizens displayed the same self centered, selfish behaviors towards each other and our invisible enemy.
We saw a nation come together like a wildfire and stand up to police brutality by demanding defunding, less policing. That argument is far from over.
We have seen the entire hospitality industry fall, bars and restaurants are closing for good in record numbers now. No one helped them and they see the writing on the wall.
We have watched social media fail, hard this year. They allow misinformation to be posted at a faster rate than a news team rushing to the scene of an accident. Facebook is the worst for misinformation, users spread utter bullshit, call other users stupid, or tell them to shut up, fuck off, all while FaceBook does nothing, absolutely nothing. About 6 months ago a user wrote to me about how Facebook selectively blocks users from posting for responding to a misinformation campaign, I tested it and she was right. A guy can tell you to shut the fuck up but if you try to lecture him/her about posting misinformation, you get blocked from posting. Facebook does nothing to the user posting the misinformation through comments or on the users page and by far Facebook is the worst when it comes to the spread of misinformation. Twitter is less full of shit but failed miserably at preventing the leader of misinformation in this country, our president.
Big tech did actually come to the rescue and actually worked more often than not as users had to work from home, yet some like Comcast in turn kindly announced that they will start caping users data on home internet, Hulu announced for the second time this year that are raising prices $10 a month while also offering no new content. While Wal-Mart who has been making money hand over fist, and thrived in the pandemic still cannot manage to educate workers on how to properly wear a face mask, to socially distance and well even wear a face mask anytime a worker is on the floor.
We started shopping differently, eating at an actual restaurant deemed too unsafe has changed for us, Movies were released through streaming services since theaters were shut down. Drunk people do not socially distance, they speak loudly, while spreading the virus so I get why bars and clubs are being asked to close.
We saw asymptomatic people fail to tell anyone they had been exposed because they had no symptoms, were either in denial or simply they just didn’t care then go out into the world infecting others.
We have seen a record number of protests sweep the nation, some good and some bad. We saw looting and rioting, threats hurled in just about every direction one can imagine. Homeless advocates in city after city started blaming their homeless issues on the pandemic, seeking to capitalize on the pandemic and which up to this point is mostly untrue because in many places city and state leaders put moratoriums in place to prevent evictions although it’s poorly managed and still happening in some states. These moratoriums do nothing to help with what happens after the pandemic, renters owe back rent, banks can still foreclose on properties today while some apartments decided a rent increase was in order during this time, putting already cash strapped American’s into even more peril.
The United States Government failed to reach any type of agreement with regards to a stimulus and the first one was a failure, poorly thought out, and did not help people for long. That will in fact cause death, catastrophe, and skyrocketing evictions. That one will come back to bite all of us.
So no, we have yet to see a new normal and as far as things going back to normal, well given what we have seen just out of each other as citizens, that is not going to happen. The election showed us more detail about racism, hatred, and our own selfish and greedy behaviors let alone the pandemic which has shown us that we just simply do not give a fuck about thy neighbor or anyone else for that matter. We only care for ourselves and our own selfish wants and needs. Our behaviors have failed, all of us made this all worse and the election shows how a growing number of people here in the US are not going to continue to tolerate those behaviors.
The number one thing we need to stop saying, is that this is about control not a pandemic, It is about the pandemic, not having more sickness than hospitals can deal with and the utterly selfish human behavior we here in the United States continue to have with regards to perceived rights and infringements. Governments are layers and the reason that they are layers is to protect this country from a leader who tries to undo things like Trump is attempting for instance and here our government failed and rather spectacularly I might add. The point is, they can shut your business down, force you to wear a face mask, socially distance, get a vaccine, like it or not that is what it is and it is that way for a reason. You can stomp your feet, have a tantrum, vow not to comply but it will not change any of that.
The worst is still yet to come for many in this nation and that is because of our behaviors, we failed to change or to want to change and we also failed to take a look back at the history of thriving pandemics and a refusal to modify and change one’s personal behavior.
We put religion over safety, the want to go to a salon over safety, to go to a bar over safety, to go to a party or a bbq over safety, we saw people in this country hosting covid parties for the sole purpose of getting infected, we spoke as a nation here not our government.
We the people of this nation spoke and said that we are simply too selfish to worry ourselves with helping to slow the spread of the virus, not overwhelm hospitals, keep family, loved ones, even strangers safe.
How many people got up on TV and said “IF you are scared don’t go anywhere you stay home, my immune system is healthy?” Because they were selfish and wanted everything open so they could do what, go out and fucking play like it is not a pandemic?
We also have people going to hospital after hospital to get tested once they get a negative test returned, I see the posts on facebook. Not only are they part of the problem, they are continuing to contribute to the drain on our medical staff and system. But even at that, they are sometimes getting tested too soon after exposure, or not all of the tests are being done correctly or simply are not good because of all the posts that I have seen, every person ended up testing positive at least once.
This nation is going to pay for our own stupid selfish behavior. We can blame Trump or our local leaders all we want, but we are each responsible for our own personal behaviors. It really quite frankly does not matter what any leader says to us, spreading misinformation, downplaying it- it does not matter, because the reality has been right in front of us the entire time along with the science. The way we have treated this pandemic and each other in this nation, our failures as a nation, that speaks louder than words ever could.
