Russia’s Infamous Election Hackers Are at it Again

Russia Election Meddling

idiot-Donald-Trump-CrimeShop

Yesterday, Trump went on and on with accusations that are completely baseless against China, claiming that they are attempting to meddle in our latest round of elections.

fancy-bear-crimeshop

What’s really true however is that reports are beginning to surface implying that Russia’s GRU, better known as Fancy Bear (U.S. intelligence agencies have identified Fancy Bear as two units within Russia’s military intelligence directorate), has secretly developed and deployed new malware that seems to be impossible to eradicate, capable of surviving a complete wipe of a target computer’s hard drive, and will allow the hackers to return as many times as they would like.

The European security company ESET discovered the new malware and reported that It works by rewriting the code that is flashed into a computer’s UEFI chip that controls the boot and reboot process.

The code is designed to maintain access to a high-value target in the event the operating system gets reinstalled or the hard drive replaced, which under normal circumstances would eradicate the malware.

This not the first code to hide in the UEFI chip and Russia’s new malware works only on PCs with security weaknesses in the existing UEFI configuration.

Not in this case, the new malware does seem to prove that Fancy Bear is more robust, powerful and potentially dangerous than the world previously thought.

Hacking – Hackers Back, The US Government To Clear the Way for That?

computerhacking_crimeshop

Hackers Get Ready – It’s Going to Be All Out Hacking War

Sometimes I sit back and wonder how some individuals were able to manage to get into office anywhere here in the US, I mean we have a Donald Trump as our sitting President.

President Trump Hosts Ceremony Recognizing First Responders In The June 14 Congressional Baseball Shooting

I’ve been hearing rumors that some who hold office throughout the United States are pushing for an okay to, hacking, hackers back.

White-House-CyberSecurity-Council-Crimeshop

Of all of the stupid idea’s in today’s world, really, this one?

What’s truly worse is that hacking back has been highly discouraged for years, not to mention it doesn’t really do shit to the hacker by the time you’ve hacked them back.

So the idea is that it would clear users to hack the computer that hacked them back.

Not the brightest idea when you consider that sometimes, actually more often than not, hackers are in fact hacking you, from a hacked computer or network of computers.

Computers and networks that belong to innocent individuals and businesses.

hacking-US-Government-crimeshop

Representatives Tom Graves, R-Georgia, and Kyrsten Sinema, D-Arizona are attempting to allow for some exceptions to the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the U.S. anti-hacking statute, which pretty much makes it illegal to access computers that don’t belong to you without permission or some form of authorization.

This tweak of the bill would change that restriction and then allow companies to access computers that don’t belong to them in the name of self-defense or, as the bill calls it, “active defense.”

Here is a time when taking the time to bother oneself with your perception of the problem might come in handy because this change is really going to create more issues than it would actually solve.

This change merely changes the situation so as to allow for the hacking, that cycle, to keep going and growing.

These hackers, they are not as stupid as our government thinks either, they could potentially hack someone, write a line of code that would then destroy everything on a network or computer should that victim attempt to hack them back. I mean you don’t honestly think hackers haven’t already thought of this do you?

I can’t write code to save my life here, and I am no hacker here,  I can however without a doubt tell you that these hackers have already outsmarted you by about 10 paces if not more.

russia-hacking-the-us-election-crimeshop

Except for the Russian hackers, they can hack Hillary Clinton’s email server but they can’t manage to hack my Starbucks card and increase my allotted credit amount for my beloved coffees, which I have suggested many times in the past they do.

Yes Putin, I am looking in your general direction here, inform your hackers, thanks for nothing.

The problem is that our own government is not seeing the problem clearly, they are perceiving it incorrectly therefore they are not going to solve it until they do take a step back and start seeing it just as it is.

When you start hacking back, launching DDoS attacks back, releasing malicious malware back, you only keep the vicious cycle going and you create nothing more, than more of an invitation to make the next hack or attack, bigger and better.

NSA Being Held Accountable for Stolen Secrets?

NSA-CrimeShop.jpg

Kaspersky Labs Assisted Russia – With Stealing NSA Spying Tools

In a new and improved twist, a report was recently released which indicated Kaspersky somehow helped Russian spies who ended up stealing highly sensitive U.S. spying tools after a contractor brought classified material home and put it on a computer that used Kaspersky anti-virus software.

kaspersky-labs-moscow-crimeshop

It appears that the stolen material included secret details about just how the NSA penetrates foreign computer networks as well as, the computer code it uses for such spying and how it defends networks inside the U.S.

StuXnet-crimeshop

This is not shocking to be honest, I mean the US Government released STUXnet once upon a time and case in point, paybacks are a bitch.

Here is a little down and dirty about Kaspersky labs: it is an anti-virus company owned by Eugene Kaspersky, who has been accused by U.S. officials of having ties with Russian intelligence officials.

As you may already know, the anti-virus software Kaspersky sold throughout the United States to businesses, private citizens, hospitals, schools, you name it, the products were widely sold and used here in the US.

Eugene-kaspersky-CrimeShop

It should be noted that Eugene Kaspersky does maintain the company’s innocence in assisting Russian Hackers with anything and to date the United States Government has provided nothing more than just an accusation against Kaspersky labs.

The United States Government has brought no tangible evidence in other words, to the table so as to provide any proof whatsoever that Kaspersky had anything to do with Russian hacking here in the US.

All they really have been able to provide is lip service and finger pointing, thus far.

Either way the NSA does seem to have issues with it’s contracted employees walking out of it’s front door with top secret information, tools and intel.

Does the NSA just have that weak of a system or is it that they simply do not care so it plays out something like: “This Friday we will have a potluck, please be sure to line your casserole pans, pie tins and cake pans with wax paper, also be sure to add an additional liner to your carrying bags so as to ensure the top secret intel that you will undoubtedly steal does not get ruined with food. Oh and Bob, could you have Marge make that macaroni casserole again, everyone just seems to love that one.”

While it’s great to see that some who walked out the doors of the NSA with top secret intel and tools are being held accountable, while at the same time the finger is pointed at Kaspersky and Russia, when will we start seeing the NSA being held accountable for its inability to secure its intel and tools?

Is that not the main problem here?

When you take the blame game away, you see that the bottom line is that the NSA continues to prove and show us just how lackluster it’s ability to secure intel much less a paperclip really is.

All I am seeing is blame being placed on others without the NSA being held accountable, which the NSA should be.

Perhaps it is time to do away with the NSA altogether, they really are not doing the United States much good at all, in fact they are doing us more harm than actual good.

Russia Successful at Dividing America?

russia-fake-social-media-CrimeShop.jpg

Russia – Serves up The Perfect Election Weapon

I continue to see these headlines with regards to Russia dividing Americans through fake social media accounts.

us-election-russia-hack-crimeshop

This morning CNN went on and on about the social media account that was found on both Twitter and Facebook under the name of “Blacktivist” which CNN dubbed a fake “black” activist account.

Okay fair enough however, when using words to describes things such as “black” or “white” you are by default stirring that social tension pot. Why not simply say something along the lines of “We found this activist site that the Russian’s created so as to cause even more racial tension and divide with regards to law enforcement here in america.”

See how much more classy that sounds?

While I don’t doubt that Russia did create that particular account, what caused the problem is still the problem. The media describes the fake account as a “black” activist account.

It’s a fake activist account. End of story. Viewers could clearly see what the accounts were when CNN posted images of the accounts posts.

america-the-divided-crimeshop

We were already a nation that was divided though and CNN should probably check its facts before skirting them and making it sound as if Russia really made the racial divide here in america worse.

It was already a boiling pot that was going to boil over on it’s own at any moment.

We already had racial tensions brewing with even more tensions brewing where law enforcement was concerned.

russia-kremlin-crimeshop

All Russia did was capitalize on our nation’s problems in order to gain more knowledge about us and where our heads were.

And by problems, it was all that, we all advertised, whether it was the mainstream media or individuals on social media posting things, we all advertised precisely what Russia exposed and capitalized on during the election.

russia-tampers-with-us-election-crimeshop

I also keep hearing this, particularly on CNN, “how did they know who to target?”

This morning was another spit out my coffee or choke laughing moment. A reporter on CNN asked a guest something to the effect of, “How did they know who to target, was it perhaps one of those calls placed to you where you were asked who they could market something like this to?”

CNN, the sky did not fall here, do you guys even read or watch the news at all? Do you even know what you are reporting on, on a daily basis or do you block that from your fragile egos, I mean minds at the end of the day and forget about it?

social-media-policing-crimeshop

What’s more, do you go onto social media at all?

Does CNN or any other media outlet actually pay attention to things other than themselves?

It is not rocket it science here.

mainstream_media_crimeshop.jpg

Russia knew who to target and what parts of the country in large part no thanks to mainstream media, second to that by actually looking at what people post from around this country on social media sites, including Reddit where anyone can read all of the forums without having to create an actual account and friend or follow someone.

Social Media Logotype Background

I wrote about this two nights ago, Russia knew who to target because here in america, we american’s expose our own secrets to everyone through social media, the mainstream media reports on speculation and opinion as if they were fact and they ask people really personal information and/or learn that really personal information and expose it.

Really CNN, how do you think they figured out who to target. I’ve never heard a more ridiculous question being asked over and over again, in my life.

Nothing in the news is really news these days, so while CNN said over and over again this morning too, “you can’t get your news from social media”, the last time I checked, we couldn’t get our news from CNN either.

I heard over 45 minutes of pretty much speculation this morning, the guests to CNN? CNN was asking hypothetical questions and interjecting their own opinions, and nothing really got answered, what I did not hear a lot of was actual factual news aside from Puerto Rico, yet still the CNN anchors filled those moments with speculative questions that tend to go unanswered which leaves viewers to speculate further and then rumors start…

Russia didn’t make shit up here, they simply exposed the worst of each of us and utilized that to their advantage.

All of the fake ad’s, the fake news, the activist accounts, they were all based off of actual facts, things that were already happening here in america, things that people were already talking about, speculating about and in some cases spreading rumors as fact about.

Russia was able to figure out, which was not a secret CNN, nor was it a secret, that american’s were already divided, they used that division among us in order to sway the election.

But was that really the only goal?

Not by a long shot.

Russia was able to expose america truly expose our every weakness from the inside out, to the world.

Modern Keyboard With Colored Social Network Buttons.

People post and share everything across multiple social media accounts, we overshare information, we discuss openly our true feelings on forums where we never have to meet the other people we are chatting with. You never know who is on the other end.

mainstream-media-crimeshop

The media has overplayed the fact that we have all of this racial division, police shooting unarmed young individuals and beating them and the media were the one’s that drilled into our heads the very idea of the wording “Unarmed, young black man.” the media also overplayed the drug epidemics that are sweeping our nation, doctors prescribing opiods like skittles, impoverished parts of our own country that we ignore while at the same time looking down our noses at for instance impoverished nations such as North Korea, the cost of living in some housing markets is so high that people have to share studio apartments with multiple people, where is big brother helping on that one? Oh wait, they are more concerned with access to Americans private email, cell phones and private data, access to social media accounts…go see Russia because they were able to obtain that, am I right? Health care in this nation is a complete and utter joke, our politicians take advantage of the system far more than any citizen, the rich get away with murder while the poor suffer the consequences 3x’s over for a simple shoplifting, you get the point, as the list could go on for days.

Thanks mainstream media, I was paying attention…but I wasn’t the only one or so it would appear. The media in this country tends to turn the news into something that it was never intended to be, entertainment. Everything is a huge, dramatic story that plays out for days on end.

We were an open book and the media played a much bigger role in that than they desire to admit, however along with that, each of us who are on social media, forums of any kind and the like bare some of that blame as well because we too overexposed our true feelings, our problems in this nation, and how we felt about those problems. Speculation, rumor and fact, we let it all out and really did kid ourselves into thinking that no one was paying attention, or at the least, that no one would ever think to use it against us.

And, if you were to push, dig and try to learn more, you might learn that the election was not the only goal here.

Our intelligence agencies should at the very least know that. Russia is far from finished here.

Russia-fake-social-media-crimeShop

Russia ladies and gentlemen, really just used what was going on here in a truly remarkable way and bitch slapped us with it, and hard.

Russia created and deployed the most unexpected weapon that has ever been created and with expert precision, they used it against us, even though we were one mass of multiple moving targets.

They didn’t kill a single soul in the process. They didn’t have to.

Vladimir Putin

It was pure genius.

The other night I said that Russia couldn’t have done it any better, and that is hands down fact.

Phishing attacks continue to be on the rise

Phishing-attacks-on-the-rise-crimeshop

Russian Hackers Again?

So last week I saw a rise in attempted phishing through my own personal email. Normally I wouldn’t say much about it, but it became so ridiculous that I had to share.

Normally the emails in question hit my spam mail filters so I don’t even open them or even bother to open them because what most people assume is my “regular” email account, is not truly my regular email account.

I can count the number of people on one hand who know my regular email account address.

To be even more frank about it, most of my own family does not even know about my regular email account because they are always being hit with some type of malicious email scam and I find it completely bothersome.

At any rate, I have all of my spam filters on high and I also have trained my gmail to filter said spam messages over to an entirely different email account that I never, ever access.

Here’s where the phishing/hacking/scamming attempts became so ridiculous that I almost spit out my coffee in sheer laughter.

Turns out, this particular group of individuals did not appreciate at all, my not even seeing one email from them.

A couple of them or it could have been the same individual took to messaging me through my site and they with much disdain let me know just how little they appreciated that not one of the emails they had been sending to my email account was reaching me but rather, they were being filtered over to my spam email account.

What makes that all the more funny is that WordPress does a really decent job of filtering out certain ip addresses and letting me know it’s spam, but I can still view the message without actually opening it.

The one thing that did get my attention to and it was not because the spelling was so horrific that it sent shivers down my spine, but because those responsible know about my spam email account.

Most wouldn’t have one single clue because I filter through one spam account and trained that one to then filter again, to another account.

Either way, to those who were responsible for the attempts, thanks for showing some love you guys, you could have at the very least offered to spring for dinner and a movie first.

Russia Admits Hacking the GOP?

hacking-crimeshop.jpg

Russia – hacking – RNC

No Russia did not admit to hacking anything here in america and they’d really like for america to stop accusing them of it.

Vladimir Putin-Crimeshop.jpg

It’s enough already…

To be honest, I am kind of with them on this one.

Truthfully, I am still only seeing lip service provided by intelligence officials here in america. I have not seen any tangible proof of all of this Russian hacking that went on.

And do know that the NSA is pretty keen to Russian hacking, they’ve seen it and studied it before so they’d be able to catch it…still though.

These hackers released intel in an attempt to sway public opinion with regards to the 2016 US Presidential Election and I agree with that.

That’s per our intelligence here in the US. But do they really know for a fact that was Russia and not an insider instead?

Did it really sway public opinion all that much? Even if it did none of what was released was a threat to national security and it was all true.

What’s more is that officially, election numbers after votes were cast were not hacked and changed in any way.

I know that I like being informed about the person that I am going to vote for and if he or she is dishonest or the party they are part of is dishonest I’d like to know that.

I am an American Citizen, I have a right to full disclosure about the person and his or her party when I am casting my vote.

Whether or not political organizations like it.

But to see Russia get all of this blame is getting rather old. It may or may not have been Russia, either way our own intelligence communities and military have done the very same thing to other nations and countries.

Either way, here in the US our mainstream media and our own government need to start moving away from this ugly, very public blatant way in which they accused another country of something before they actually had any proof at all.

And then the very public threats of punishing Russia, it has just gotten to be so childish.

We expect more from our leaders and intelligence communities tasked with handling these types of investigations. IF you have to punish another country because they hacked into your political systems then do it and do it quietly.

Because our government has made this so public it has made me question more than once if they aren’t just full of it and blaming the wrong party here?

russian-hacker-attack-crimeshop

This Russian hacking or just someone hacking nonsense was just not handled very well by our government or our media.

At the end of the day, Donald Trump did not win because of Russian hackers, he won because he is Donald Trump and voters felt that he could be trusted more and that he was capable of doing the job.

The last thing, the very last thing that any country should be doing is broadcasting to the world about just how vulnerable and unprotected your country really is when it comes to cyber security.

Russian hackers – used Harvard paper to hack nonprofits

Harvard Univerisity-CrimeShop.jpeg

Harvard University

Last week the New York Times published a report that hackers, who were identified as Russian agents by American Intelligence agencies and private security firms, had gained access to the systems of the DNC And Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta.

russian-hacker-crime_shop

Big deal right, because at the end of the day nothing released or published was false information, they simply exposed truths that they felt that the American public or rather voter had a right to know.

At any rate it is believed that the same hackers who hacked the DNC and Johnny Podesta, used a false or fabricated Harvard University paper in order to steal data from large think tanks and nonprofits.

According to the Times, the hackers continued on after the election, in fact it is believed that these hackers used a rather nasty malware infected PDF disguised as a Harvard University paper entitled “Why American Elections are Flawed.”

The paper was supposedly sent to nonprofits as a PDF and according to security firm Volexity, the PDF was sent using what appeared to be a Harvard University email address and included viruses that would infect the computer of whoever downloaded the file.

According to Volexity “These e-mails came from a mix of attacker created Google Gmail accounts and what appears to be compromised e-mail accounts at Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences.”

“These e-mails were sent in large quantities to different individuals across many organizations and individuals focusing in national security, defense, international affairs, public policy, and European and Asian studies.”

The paper however, really does exist.

Harvard Kennedy School Professor, Pippa Norris just so happens to be the author of the real “Why American Elections are Flawed (And How to Fix Them,)”

She was completely unaware that hackers were using her work maliciously.

Russian Hacking US Election-crimeshop.jpg

Personally, hackers or not Hillary lost on her own, the Democrats as a party failed and they lost.

Just one small example, out of a great many, and Hillary aside, the Democratic party was pretty red faced after documents leaked basically showing how they were placating the Black Lives Matter Movement.

They were coaching candidates on how to avoid angering the “radical” activists.

Nothing hackers exposed, told or leaked was untrue, more importantly the hackers to our knowledge thus far, did not mess with the actual election numbers.

russian-hackers-crimeshop

The bottom line is this, while I may disagree with what Donald Trump says at times and how he behaves at times, the guy lays it on the line and he speaks from the heart like it or not, agree with it or not.

That said, would you rather have a candidate in office where at the very least agree with them or not, you know would look you in the eye and tell you like it is or have someone in office who will look you in the eye and tell you lie after lie?

putin-russian-hacking-us-election-crimeshop

The reality is, these Russian hackers, who our Government Intelligence says were state sponsored, did the American voters a favor by showing us the truth.

For as much as these hackers may have meddled, so too has our very own US Government and Military, in many foreign states and in many foreign state affairs including some elections of foreign states.

Our Government doesn’t have to like it, hell as citizens we don’t have to like it… but allow for me to remind you that in the world of cyber-warfare, spying and intelligence, all’s fair in love and war.

US Presidential Election – Time for a Real Investigation

election-2016-crimeshop

President of the United States

Over the last week we’ve seen headlines ranging from Russian Hackers swung the 2016 US Presidential Election, Fake News swung the 2016 Presidential Election, to James Comey caused Hillary Clinton to lose the 2016 Presidential Election.

russian-hackers-us-presidential-election-crime-shop

Now some of the electors are pushing to have an intelligence report on Trump to see if he is even fit to serve given his relationship with Russia and ties to Russia and it’s government, this after several electors heard that the intelligence community believes that Russia may have influenced this election.

President-Obama-CrimeShop.jpg

The media is reporting on it, President Obama asked the CIA to investigate it, but also asked them not to disclose the findings with the public, members of the CIA have come forward indicating that Russia somehow hacked or was able to swing the election in Donald Trump’s favor, and Sen. Harry Reid accused FBI Director James Comey of covering up a Russian hack of the 2016 Presidential Election…

james-comey-sad-600x400-crime-shop

Initially, the accusations were about fake news being the reason Hillary lost the election and I felt that was absurd because the reality is, if someone believes in the fake news story no matter what it is, it is because they want to, they want to believe the story that was told.

The idea that the mainstream media, fake news/disinformation from the media or a news outlet in any way, shape or form, drives public opinion is absurd to me.

That amounts to telling the public they are mindless fools who can’t possibly make a decision without CNN or Fox News or any media outlet telling them what that decision should be.

If anyone believes that the media is really all that influential, they should get out and start talking to real people without a camera rolling…

But here we are, once again and more seriously questioning the 2016 Presidential Election and Donald Trump’s Win.

president-elect-donald-trump-crimeshop

Enough is enough already, if anyone feels that the election was somehow hacked by Russia or Russian hackers, or compromised in any way, prove it instead of simply going to the media and reporting to them what is only speculation or theory.

Prove it, do something about it and call it good.

If no-one has proof of anything it’s time to drop it and move the hell on already.

As to James Comey? Harry Reid needs to lay off of the viagra and then going after the director of the FBI. The Director should be the least of Harry Reid’s worries at this stage.

The entire campaign leading up to the election made America look like a joke in the eyes of other nations, not to mention a great many american citizens, but this takes the cake if anyone within the US Government thinks, suspects or feels, that the US Presidential Election was somehow compromised by outside influences and yet those individuals are doing nothing to prove it.

Save for confuse voters and create distrust with the election process…right before a new leader is poised to head into office.

IF Donald Trump did not win the election rightfully, then something must be done and it must be done before he sets one foot into the oval office.

Of course Donald Trump, the Republican party and those that voted for him feel that he won fairly, however, the accusations that are now circulating are bit more serious than just fake news and disinformation.

These types of accusations warrant an investigation.

If those that are talking currently have no proof of anything, then it’s time to let it go already so that we can end the year peacefully and with some shred of faith in the election process.

Many citizens across this nation had already lost faith in the election process, with the new accusations it’s gotten worse.

This is not something to leave on the table right before a new leader heads into office, especially when the accused is a foreign state, a very powerful foreign state.

Either way, enough is enough.

It is time to begin a proper investigation if for no other reason than it is, the responsibility of the United States Government to restore public trust in the election process, particularly since the United States Government had a very large hand in tarnishing that trust.

U.S. Department of Justice – Resorting to veiled threats…against the Kremlin?

loretta_lynch_the_crime_shop

Instead of resort to preventative measures

In light of the recent political hacks here in the U.S. today, 9/14/16, the Justice Department dropped a couple of hints that they do in fact, plan to hold Russia accountable for what is suspected to be a broad hacking campaign that has targeted U.S. political organizations and election databases.

john-carline-crime-shop

Assistant Attorney General John Carlin said “You’ve seen us use it time and again, the message is clear: You are not safe because you are doing it under another nation’s flag. We can figure out who did it … and when we do, we’re committed to holding people accountable.”

True enough, we have seen it and heard it, over and over again. What we are more interested in seeing are preventative measures. Something along the lines of being proactive rather than reactive.

Both Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Assistant Attorney General John Carlin fell short of actually coming right out and saying they in fact knew that Russia was behind the recent hacks in today’s announcement.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch had this to say: “Whether you are a rogue hacker or a uniformed soldier, the shadowy corners of the internet will not provide respite for long. The light of our efforts is bright, the reach of our resolve is long. There literally is no hiding place.”

russian-hacker-crime-shop

Yet, whomever these hackers are, they have still managed to be hiding, they are unnamed, they have no face for us to look upon, we don’t even really know where they reside, for all we know, the hacks could have all been inside jobs.

Information and access can both be bought and sold for a fairly reasonable price these days…

Assistant Attorney General John Carlin named Russia as one of the 4 main actors that have been involved in supporting hackers targeting the U.S., the other 3 are North Korea, Iran and China.

While it’s true that the U.S. has taken action against hackers with regards to hacks against Sony Pictures, financial institutions and U.S. companies. The action taken so far was against North Korea, Iran and China, nothing for Russia.

vladimir-putin-we-didnt-do-it-the-crime-shop

Russia has been suspected of the Democratic Party hacks, as well as for hacks into election systems in both Arizona and Illinois. The word on the street is, they did it in an effort to disrupt the November elections.

Forbes reported that Edward Snowden suspected Russia as being behind the leak over at the NSA last month, something I am personally convinced is part of an inside job, rather than Russia kicking down the air-gapped network doors of the NSA.

Right now Russia is also being accused of hacking the medical records of Olympic Athletes…

President Obama has not acknowledged that he believes Russia is behind the hacks either. At least not publicly.

In Fact, so far most Government officials have hesitated at pointing the blame to Russia and Russia has denied any involvement in the recent hacks.

All save for…

Senator John McCain-R Arizona who today subtly suggested that “Russia is conducting cyber-attacks to undermine American interests at every turn.”

It’s one thing to have irrefutable evidence against someone, it’s an entirely different thing to blame someone for something you cannot prove they did.

It’s unforgivable to place blame on a very public level…When you lack THE EVIDENCE to support that!

What’s that thing we tell all criminals in this country…oh help me out here, isn’t it something along the lines of, being innocent until proven guilty…

Don’t we also allow for defendants to ask for and receive a change of venue if they feel they will not get a fair trial where they were charged because so much media attention was placed on the case that they feel the public, their jury would not give them a fair shot?

Way to practice that public persecution thing here, we are publicly persecuting another country who the U.S. Government hasn’t proven did anything.

I keep seeing headlines suggesting what the U.S. might do should they discover Russia was behind the recent hacks.

What I am not seeing is what the U.S. plans to do if they learn that Russia in fact, had absolutely nothing to do with the recent hacks?

It matters not right now who is behind the hacks as far as the public is concerned, what matters is that our Government is taking steps to prevent future hacks while at the same time investigates what did happen without and this is important, casting blame on another country.

For a country that wants to be a world leader, be seen and known as a world leader, this blame game is not the move a progressive, forward thinking world leading country, would make.

Whether or not someone is hacking for the Russian Government, or it’s a lone hacker if it were me, I’d hold off on blaming anyone outright until I did have irrefutable proof.

While we are all focused on who did it, we are failing to see and realize these hacks clearly illustrate our inability as a nation to prevent cyber attacks.

These hacks illustrate our weakness when it comes to the cyber world.

Because of that, I wouldn’t want to risk rocking the boat without having proof to back up my accusations because until anyone can prove anything…we are still pretty vulnerable to yet another hack and/or cyber attack.

From a still unknown and unnamed hacker or group of hackers.
